Caring for the Dogs of War

Inside we took several photos while the vet examined and treated one of the dogs.

Even though the pictures work as a sequense of an event, the examination of the dog, there wasn't one that stood out enough to be a press release.

Updated April 24, 2007: Fred Dorr, President Vietnam Dog Handler Assocation, has sent information about this photo. This photographer didn't know that this photo was made into a press release. He also didn't know the story behind the photo.

Canine Corpuscle Count===Army Specialist First Class Thomas Shannon (Rt. 5, Box 116, Birmingham, Ala.) takes a blood count from U.S. Marine Sentry Dog named "Ceasar." Holding the muzzled dog is his handler, Marine Sgt. Michael J. Nutt (5406 E. Third, Spokane, Wash.) The dog was undergoing a normal physcial at the Marine Corps 3rd Military Police BN. veternarian clinic. Marine Sentry Dogs are deployed throghout the I Corps tactical zone to help guard vital installations.
