November 1, 1776, celebrated as the date of the formal founding of the Mission San Juan Capistrano, saw Father Serra offering up the first High Mass in the area.	The first white child was baptized on August 2, 1780.	The first marriage was a ceremony uniting two Indians, from the Mission San Francisco de Borja in lower California, was made on January 23, 1777.	The first death and burial of Sinforosa, a child of pagan parents, was on July 13, 1777.	The permanent church was completed in 1777.
