driving a McLaren or is it a McLeagle?. Dan Gurney's first win in
Can-Am came in 1966 at Bridgehampton driving a AAR Lola T70 with
a Ford engine. He wouldn't win again until the 1970 season. Racing
for McLaren Cars, after the death of Bruce McLaren, Gurney won at
Mosport and St. Jovite. In July 1970 Dan Gurney had to leave the
team because of a sponorshop conflicts between Gulf (McLaren) and
Castrol (Dan Gurney.) The high wing, pioneered by Jim Hall, was

John Surtees and the Chapparl 2H. There is that
high wing again. The wing was not stationary. It was controlled
by the braking of the car. Because of several high profile accidents
with the wing in F1 cars it was banned. Basically any "moveable
