Denny Hulme in 1970. Team
McLaren not only lost it's founder and leader, Bruce McLaren,
but Hulme badly burned his hands earlier in the year at Indianapolis.
Even with these hardships Denis still won the race and the Can-Am
championship in 1970.

This is from the 1969 race,
the last year of the big winged racers.
In 1992 he suffered a fatal
heart attack while at the wheel of a BMW M3 during the Bathurst
1000 in Australia. He was 56. Read a special
tribute to Denny Hulme on the tenth anniversary of his death.
