Misc Views Of Palm Springs

By , January 16, 2011 12:42 PM

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsRest Stop just before Palm Springs. That’s US 10 on the other side of the fence. I could have spent all day and probably the night too at this site. There could be a photoessay here.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsAn oasis just beyond downtown Palm Springs. I mean only a couple of blocks. From this view it looks like an isolated oasis. No so. What the rich will do for privacy. On the right side is a double row of palm trees with more trees inside the property.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsDowntown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive with The Plaza Theatre as it’s focal point.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsThese benches are all over downtown Palm Springs. These were located on the backside of a dead shopping center. The Palm Springs Art Museum is in the background.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsDirectly in front of the benches in the previous photo is this now dead movie theatre.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsAgain on Palm Canyon Drive.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsThe Tyler’s Hamburger stand. It’s on Indian Canyon Drive just around the corner from the Plaza Theatre. Best hamburger I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten many a Tommy’s Burger in the last 50 years. Be warned it’s CASH only.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsBen and Jerry’s is one of the few chain stores on Palm Canyon Drive. Starbucks is another. Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream is to die for.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsPalm Springs Film Festival. Starlets? Don’t know, don’t care. Whenever I have a choice of lovely ladies in the photo they go in. Period. Done.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsMellow yellow. Colored sneakers are in.

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsI like this one so it gets included. At the Camelot Theatres just after I had seen ‘Bill Cunningham New York.’

Photoessayist: Palm SpringsLastly a desert landscape in the middle of Palm Desert. They can’t help it, it’s the natural flood channel. Without it Palm Desert and many of the other desert communities would get wiped out every year. Fred Waring Blvd (44th Ave.) is directly behind me.

By , January 12, 2011 6:00 AM

Photoessayist: Palm Springs Film FestivalA lot of movies but little Hollywood action on the outside.

I guess I have to go to one of the evening events. Will do that tomorrow night.

Anyway this woman got the Red Carpet treatment at the showing of ‘Born to Suffer.
