Street Of Primary Colors
This was taken while waiting to get a table at ‘The Grill’ on El Paseo in Palm Desert. I really liked the bright colors but the added bonus was the shadow of the palm tree.
I wonder what the security guards in the previous post would think of what I was doing?

The Modified Landscape
You have to get out of your car and walk around.
I generally go out alone whenever I know I will be taking photos. That’s because I do a lot of walking around to find that interesting photo.
I’ve always been interested in the way man modifies the landscape. Not always for the good.
To find photos like the one above you need to get out of your protective shell and do a lot of walking. I cannot tell you how many times I have walked up a winding trail only to turn back because I didn’t find what I was hoping for. Make no mistake I still take several photos along the way but they are more of a backup and not generally used.
This photo was one of the last I took when I went down to the flood channel to try and get a panorama photo. I had to park the car on a short dead-end street and walk back down Fred Waring Ave to the channel. On returning to the car I decided to check out what was at the end of the road. I was hungry, in need of a coffee, and a long shower but I walked to the end of the short road. I’m glad I did. This photo will be added to my collection of man modified landscapes.
