It’s As Close As The Front Entrance

Photoessayist: Entrance Way

Good photos are everywhere. Just look. If at first you fail to see them then you better look again.

I had been spending a couple of days with friends in Indio, CA. If you don’t know Indio then think Palm Springs. Anyway the first two days there it was overcast. Miserable. Then on the third day the Sun appeared. I got the camera out of the bag and went into their backyard and took a few photos. I then decided to get a picture that I’ve wanted to take when I first arrived but the weather interfered. On the way out the front door I saw an image I hadn’t seen until that moment. The Sun was blocked by the walls of the entrance but there was a lot of ambient light inside. Two feet outside the door I stopped and took the above photo then continued to the front of the house and out in the street to get what I thought was the photo of the day.

Not so. Even though I did get the photo I was waiting for this photo of the vines hanging down the front wall and showing enough green to accent the scene was the best of the lot.

In the end never stop looking.
