Occupy Riverside But First Lewis Baltz and Joe Deal At CMP

By , November 8, 2011 7:14 PM

Photoessayist: Occupy RiversideWasn’t there for the Occupy Riverside but to see the Pacific Standard Time contribution from UCR’s California Museum of Photography. It is an excellent overview of the progression of landscape photography from Weston and Adams to the New Topographics and beyond.

What I wanted to see was Lewis Baltz and Joe Deal and that’s exactly what I got. The best was 23 of Lewis Baltz’s photographs from his essay: The New Industrial Park Near Irvine, California circa 1974. In fact it is Irvine.
